1. Lee loves rocking on a rocking chair that is just his size and used to be his Dad's.
2. Lee is starting to really love playing independently since he's learning how things work and how to play with them.
3. Lee really enjoys his post-bath, pre-clothes time.
4. I feel like I'm getting big so fast this time.
5. Lee scoots himself under things all the time since he still hasn't mastered the idea of moving forward.
6. We found out that Lee loves swimming.  Perfect! Since we are both water lovers and we're moving to Texas.  Lots of swimming in the future.
7. Lee likes to fall asleep with a book, just like him Momma. (the top is Lee, bottom is me.)
8. Now that I'm finally not feeling nauseous every second I'm trying to hop back on the healthy lifestyle wagon. It feels so good.
9. Lee wants to eat whatever we eat, in this case his first taste of frosting on graham crackers. yum.
10. Lee seems to be crazy about stuffed animals. (really helpful when he doesn't want to fall asleep right away.)
11. In general Lee is growing up so quickly and I'm trying to love all the fun moments.

one of those days.

Today has been one of those days.  I have felt frustrated, irritable, unproductive and generally lousy.  Part of the problem is Lee, let me explain...
Recently (aka this week) Lee has become very agitated, he doesn't nap for more than 15 minutes at a time, and he spends a lot of his time tensing his whole little body and angrily grunting. Usually clawing my face or neck in the process.  Ex-haust-ing.
*Lee this morning.*

I hate most of all that I don't know how to make him more calm, I have tried every little thing I can dream up and nothing seems to help all that much.  Poor boy.  The added demands and stress have left me feeling SO on edge, grumpy and blah.  Kevin was good to remind me (over and over) last night that my #1 job is to BE Lee's mom and thus, even though I did very little else yesterday, I did the most important thing.  I know he's right but it doesn't feel like enough or good, etc... I am having a bit of a time letting go.  Today has been much the same, I didn't even bother getting baby Lee dressed today, never thought I'd be one of "those" moms who lets their child hang out in the pj's that they spit their peaches all over that morning, but today I am. I decided to eat lunch before getting to my list of people I needed to contact for some reason or another and of course by the time I'd finished Lee was up from his "nap". One of those days. Kevin urged me to get out of the house, at least long enough to walk down the street to where our mailbox is with Lee so I did.  It was my first time putting Lee directly into the stroller instead of his carseat first and...he got stuck.  I could not for the life of me get the buckles to come out. One of those days.  And deep down I know it's okay.  But the deep down is having trouble getting to the surface today.  One of those days.  My agitation has made me hungry but we haven't been shopping in at least a week.  I hate not having salty munchies when I "need" them.  One of those days.
AND THEN...

... we have blissfully peaceful *moments* and I can't help but think of how much I love this kid.  I know days like today pass just as quickly as the good ones and soon he'll be all grown up and so I guess it's okay that today has been one of those days.

lately.

Lee and I have little adventures and milestones every day.  Lately we've spent a few weekends with my parents while Kevin has been out in the desert near Wendover gathering core samples for his Geology thesis. It's been fun to spend time with them, especially since we'll be moving far away once graduation rolls around.  For now we are LOVING being close and having time with them.

1. catching some zzz's with Grandma. 2. chillin' with uncle Dave.   3. snuggles with Grandpa. 4. peek-a-boo with Papa. (we're SO glad when Daddy comes home!) 5. lounging and chatting with Grandpa. 6. stolen pudding spoon. (no pudding yet...Dave.) 7. cousin time: with cousin Chloe. (she is almost exactly two months younger than Lee) 8. uncle Scott's favorite cookies at his belated birthday bash. 9. tuckered out bobble head. :) 10. starting young with his ukulele skills. (and the birth of Lee's theme song by uncle Dave...VERY catchy..."well, baby Lee...") 11. chewing on some green bell pepper (Lee loved it..and drooled all over me.) 12. nearly naked conference time with uncle Matty. (nothing better than a baby in a diaper.) 13. more conference with uncle Dave. 14. saying "hi" to Papa during his school day. 15. getting really close to sitting up on his own. 16. all "growed" up.  17. fall fav outfit. 18. enjoying the fall mountains near our house while Papa does 'Friends of Scouting'. 19. the end of a beautiful hike just above our house to Escalante's Cross. 20. bath time.
